What is Glenshire Abbey? |
Glenshire Abbey is a light-hearted fantasy role playing game with a bit of a sense of humor. Most fantasy RPG’s out there are ultra-serious affairs, and that wasn’t the direction that we wanted to go in. If The Slayers, Record of Lodoss War, Final Fantasy, and D&D had a drunken night of shame, the results would probably look a lot like Glenshire Abbey. There are little nods to anime, videogames, and classic fantasy interspersed throughout the world, which hopefully you will enjoy playing in as much as we enjoyed creating.

What is ISys? |
ISys (short for the Illordia System, named for the world in Glenshire Abbey) is an innovative point-based system that places emphasis on flexibility and ease of use, without sacrificing creativity. It uses only a single die- the D12- so there’s no need to carry around a metric ton of polyhedrons to every gaming session.
|
Er… what’s a polyhedron? |
In this case, it’s just a fancy way of saying dice.
|
Why a D12? |
Why not? The 12-sided die has long been the redheaded stepchild within the pantheon of the dice bag. Most role playing games use the 6, 10, or almighty 20-sided dice, so we decided to be different.
|
Why not a D4? They don’t get a lot of love either. |
Have you ever accidentally dropped and stepped on a D4? It’s like the geek equivalent of stepping on ninja caltrops. And before you ask about D8’s, we considered them, but they just didn’t work well with our mechanics.
